JOB TITLE : HVAC Technician 

DEPARTMENT : Maintenance / Property 

REPORTS TO : Maintenance Manager, Property Director

SUPERVISES : NONE

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Oversee the HVAC department and all equipment therein.

 Purchase HVAC equipment as needed.  Administer direct expansion refrigeration systems and equipment (i.e. freezers, milk coolers, chillers, cooling carts, etc.).  Administer absorption refrigeration systems and equipment.

 Oversee air distribution equipment (i.e. fans, air handlers, reheat and preheat coils, unit ventilators, perimeter radiation, etc.).

 Oversee hydronic equipment (i.e. hot water converters, pumps, heat exchanger, etc.).

 Oversee boilers and equipment (i.e. burners, condensate pump, steam traps, coils, water treatment, humidifiers, etc.).

 Oversee temperature control systems (i.e. electric/pneumatic devices).  Train other personnel on repair service and emergency service response (24 hours/day). 

 Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

 

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

 Technical training and 3+ years of recent industrial/commercial experience in Administration of HVAC department. (Extensive industrial/commercial repair service experience may serve as a substitute for technical training.)

 Repair experience in refrigeration, HVAC systems, pneumatic/electronic controls and low pressure boilers.

 Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of hire. (Applicants with an out-of-state driver’s license must obtain a Minnesota driver’s license within 30 days of hire.)

 Must possess a boiler license and pool certification, or be able to obtain both within 90 days of hire. 

  Extensive knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC systems, pneumatic/electronic controls, and low pressure boilers. 

 

UNIVERSAL REQUIREMENTS:

 Possess a sensitivity to various cultures, including Native American cultures.

 Regular attendance and punctuality.

 Able and willing to work any changes in scheduled hours as business and staff levels dictate.

 Serve as a credit to Jackpot Junction Casino Hotel, and encourage others to do the same.
